About 舞鶴市
舞鶴市（まいづるし）は、京都府北部の中丹地域に位置し、若狭湾の支湾である舞鶴湾に面する市。もと京極氏・牧野氏3万5000石の城下町。旧称、田辺。人口7万4千人。 舞鶴港の東港は、かつては旧日本海軍の軍港で、舞鶴鎮守府の所在地であった。現在は海上自衛隊の基地港であり総監部（舞鶴地方隊）が置かれる。西港は、北前船の時代から現在に至るまで商港として利用されている。地域おこしとして、広島県呉市と共に肉じゃが発祥の地を名乗っている。
